Moving from a change I love to a change I do not, Pikachu’s colors look extremely muted in Smash Ultimate. Ultimate in general tends to use washed out colors for the characters, but those with a heavy use of yellow like Pikachu and Pac-Man really suffered.

Conversely though I feel Smash 4’s rendition of the character was too saturated giving Pikachu an almost plastic like appearance.

I feel Brawl actually struck the balance between realistic lighting and vibrant coloration the best which is surprising as I generally don’t care for Brawl’s art direction.
