GN Version 5.0

The following is a fan-translation of a Famitsu interview with Nintendo's Hidemaro Fujibayashi...

- Nintendo wanted to review everything that has been taken for granted in the Zelda series
- now players can climb, push, and do all other things to get to certain areas, letting the player play how they want
- there will be multiple solutions for various objectives thrown at the player, letting them tackle things in unique ways
- the developers found that they were all playing/testing the game and coming up with different solutions from one another
- the devs explored what a Zelda game should be, and what key elements are necessary
- the elements of dungeons, puzzles and solutions were all considered important
- it was important to take those elements and turn them on their head in order to create a new experience
- some elements are an amalgamation of what the team has learned over the years
- Nintendo isn't saying whether the map ends or not
- you can travel by horse or teleport between Shrines for fast travel
- there are certain elements of the map that you won't be able to bypass
- Zelda titles may have been considered challenging for newcomers before, but this title should embrace all types of players
- there are multiple ways to defeat enemies, instead of needing a specific weapon/item to do so
- some bugs that cropped up during development were actually turned into features
