GN Version 5.0

Famitsu has shared a quick interview with Daemon X Machina producer, Tsukuda Kenichirou. We have the pertinent tidbits below.

- players will be able to modify the Outer (human player character) through upgrades
- by learning new abilities and skills, the Outer will change in shape and form
- skills also affect the player’s Arsenal
- players who wish to do so may go through the game without making any upgrades to the Outer
- the first man seen in the trailer is the default player avatar, and that the two who show up later are key people in the story
- the team is glad that the foreign gaming media has been responding positively to Daemon X Machina
- media constantly ask him questions about the setting, especially about the need for having human characters
- Kenichirou wanted to make a game that people would play face-to-face instead of just online
- the colors in the game are used to reflect the player’s emotions, and that red is to represent fear of a giant boss enemy
- the transition from color to monochrome in Japanese manga fascinates Kenichirou and was an inspiration for the game
- they wanted to make a game with a unique art style in contrast to the trend of photorealism in video games
- more details on the game are coming in the near future
