Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom's Switch sales vs. other platforms is 8:1

We already knew that Monster Boy and the Cursed Kingdom was killing it on Switch, but now we can see just how much. FDG Entertainment has confirmed that the Switch version of the game is outselling all other versions of the game by an 8:1 ratio. That's a ridiculously high ratio, especially when you consider install base of something like PS4. Switch owners are still hungry for all types of games, from AAA to indie!

That's because they only release a few % points of their games on Switch, with a few % points of the quality of the other platforms.

Third parties are gonna become Indies if they don't start keeping pace.

Actually, they won't. A lot of these studios like Ubisoft, EA, Capcom, only make a few % points from Switch out of their total 100% revenue.

That's definitely part of it, no doubt. Smaller amount of titles = smaller % of sales.
Just don't think that every big studio is "doomed" if they don't support switch. I'm always saddened when a title that could run on Switch, doesn't make it over.

I'm not saying doomed but they and their franchises are becoming less relevant and recognizable to customers as more indie characters shine through.

I can't help but feel Nintendo saw something by putting indies in the spotlight. Small companies who are producing quality games are finally getting a chance to shine where previously their games would go unnoticed. It's like they were planting seeds and could sense that the so-called "AAA" market seems to be heading towards a crash.

Plus the more success these indies have the more money they have to produce bigger and better games down the line. So yeah I'm all for these little guys getting some recognition and being rewarded for their work.
