Nintendo's iQue Subsidiary is transitioning into game development

iQue heads in a new direction

iQue Ltd. is a 100%-owned Nintendo subsidiary in China that was originally put together to sell versions of Nintendo products under a custom iQue-branded hardware. As Nintendo is now looking to make a bigger push into China with the Switch, the iQue brand/efforts aren't really needed anymore. What's the iQue gang going to do from here on out? It looks like they're shifting over to actual game development.

iQue is currently looking to hire both game programmers and testers to work on projects for Nintendo, although we don't have info on any specific games at this time. They'll most likely work in assisting Nintendo's other teams on projects before they crank something out themselves. We'll have to keep tabs on Nintendo's future releases to see if the iQue name pops up in the credits!

Thanks to ThatWaluigiDude for the heads up!

This is great, I’ve always talked about how Nintendo needs to grow new studios and bring in talent with untapped ideas for gameplay. I look forward to seeing what the Chinese devs will cook up after they’ve established themselves.

So a start of a game studio that used to only market Nintendo in China.

This will be interesting especially when they can start doing IPs that are small and simple like game and watch or something.
