Playtonic clears up rumors, says they aren't working on a new Banjo-Kazooie, and remain an independent studio

Well that settles that!

In a very rare instance of transparency, Playtonic has come forward to full address the recent rumors of what they're up to. The company flat-out says they're not working on a new Banjo-Kazooie game, and remain an independent studio. Check out the company's full statement below.

Thanks to Rob-RmanX for the heads up!

Fair enough.
But not the news I wanted to hear.

Well, that fixes that.

But still, Microsoft should have the kindness to give the Banjo-Kazooie games to Switch considering that Cuphead and Ori are ported to Switch.

I do feel like this is kind of signaling to Microsoft that while nothing is happening, obviously Playtonic knows the desire is out there and they would be up to working on it.

I know it is not related to Playtonic but really, why the Rare collection is not on the switch yet is absolutely beyond me.

Other than that, I'm glad these guys remain independant anyway. We've all seen what happenend to Rare after being bought by microsoft.

The confirmation of independence is good, but I'd still take their Banjo denial with a grain of salt. After all, how many times did Kamiya deny Platinum was making a Star Fox game before Zero was finally announced?
