Angry Birds started as a mobile game, and managed to make its way all throughout the entertainment industry. The games eventually spread out to platforms like 3DS and Wii U, and the series has not one, but two movies under its belt. The next project being tackled is Angry Birds: Summer Madness, an animated series for Netflix.

According to Netflix, the Angry Birds Movie 2 is quite popular on their service, hanging in the top 10 most-viewed movies on all of Netflix for a few weeks. It seems that's all Netflix needed to greenlight an animated series. The show won't debut until 2021, but Netflix did share a quick blurb on what to expect.

“Angry Birds have been a true phenomenon for kids around the world and we’re excited to bring them home to the nest at Netflix where they will be angrier and bird-ier than ever.” - Curtis Lelash, director of original animated series at Netflix
