GN Version 5.0

If you think you'll run out of new things to do in Animal Crossing: New Horizons anytime soon, think again. Nintendo has a plan to keep the game filled with fresh content for years to come.

In an interview with CNET, director Aya Kyogoku was asked about the future of New Horizons, and what's coming down the pipeline. Kyogoku states that there's lots of stuff in the works, and they're looking to keep players engaged for years to come.

We want to make sure that in two years or three years down the road, players will still continue to find new surprises in the game. So we hope to create an update that you can do that with.

Kyogoku was asked if there were any ideas left on the cutting-room floor when making the game, which leads to reaffirmation that new content is coming.

...we want to make sure that users will be able to find new surprises and new gain elements as they play for years down the road, we wanted to make sure that we add something for that.
