James Turner, art director for the Pokemon series, has gone digging through his trunk of old works and stumbled upon something from the Wii era. Turner found the original character designs he did for Pokemon Battle Revolution, which launched all the way back in 2009. These designs are just about identical to what you see in the final game. Looks like the work translated extremely well in-game!
