Developer Spitfire Interactive and publisher Daedalic Entertainment posted a new trailer for their turn-based superhero tactics game Capes, which is coming to Nintendo Switch this week, on May 29th, 2024.

Ignis had a burgeoning career as an on-camera host and personality on the local music and culture beat. Bubbly, cheerful, and with an infectious on-camera personality, she lives much the same life off camera. Nothing seems to get her down. She doesn’t avoid conflict–she just tries to make the best of the circumstances. Her personal motto is: “If you can’t smile when things are going bad, you’ll spend half your time frowning that you could have spent enjoying yourself.”

On the battlefield, Ignis is a powerful hero and ally who uses fire to deal damage or control areas of combat. She turns up the heat on her allies when they team up with her, addingl fire damage to their attacks.

At its core, Capes is an action focused turn-based superhero strategy game. Level up your heroes and combine their powers to access devastating team-up attacks in strategically challenging missions. Play across the dark and gritty campaign to reveal the truth behind the horrific Enhancement Program created by the supervillain Operator Alpha, and complete side-missions to improve your heroes and learn more about their past.

Those who want to save the city with flair should consider the Capes: King City Edition, which launches simultaneously. The King City Edition includes the full game and the Supporters Pack, filled to the brim with extra content including alternate hero appearances, an art book featuring more than 50 pages of the art behind Capes, and more.

The game is chock-full of story and gameplay content alike, and Team Ladybug’s signature pixel art is being further refined. We’re terribly sorry for the delay, but we hope the improved Blade Chimera will be high-quality and be able to entertain a wide audience.

The newly released trailer showcases many new boss battles and gimmicks, all painstakingly designed by Team Ladybug. It offers a sneak peek into the world of the game… but in order to let more players get their hands on the actual game experience, Blade Chimera will be joining Steam Next Fest in June (next month!) with a public demo.
