GN Version 5.0

Animal Crossing: New Horizons has been pushed back to March 2020, but at least it's looking mighty fine so far! We all got our first real look at the title today, and we have a new round of gameplay details to share with you.

- co-op
- crafting
- fill the world with items and furniture
- takes place on an island
- players will arrive as part of Tom Nook’s “deserted island getaway package”
- start out with nothing, but soon you get a tent, which you can place where you please
- place furniture inside your tent, or lay them outside wherever you want
- select your character’s skin tone
- the crafting system is accessed via an app on your character’s phone
- collect materials by hacking away at trees, smacking rocks with your shovel, and other such activities
- take them to a workbench (owned by Tom Nook) to fill in the blanks of a recipe
- co-op can be played with a single Joy-Con
- invite someone to your world by using the “Call An Islander” app on your in-game phone
- up to eight players can hang on a single island
- other players can help you collect materials, work on crafting projects, and more
- you have access to a camera with filters to take in-game pics
- nearly everything you do earns you “Nook Miles,” which are inspired by airplane mileage programs
- everything from arriving on the island to crafting items to simply picking weeds earns you points
- these points can be exchanged for access to items and activities
- you can still interact with villagers and decorate as before
