Dear Reader:
Japanese hardware/software sales for Jan. 13th to Jan. 19th, 2020, Pokemon Sword and Shield has been dethroned
Since launch, Pokemon Sword and Shield has amazingly kept the #1 sales position in Japan. After 10 weeks on the market, it's finally been dethroned, and is now placed in a respectable third on the charts. It's been quite a while since PlayStation 4 exclusives took the top of the charts, but with the launch of Yakuza: Like a Dragon and Dragon Ball Z: Kararot, they've taken the first two spots. Tokyo Mirage Sessions #FE Encore had a bit of a slow opening week, while making it to #6, the game sold only 18,797 copies in Japan. In terms of hardware, the Nintendo Switch was the best selling console by far. 96,458 more Switch units have been sold between the Switch and Switch Lite, which is even more than last year during the same time period. Check out the full Japanese sales data below for the week of January 13th!
