We've known for awhile now that Netflix was working on an adaptation of Resident Evil, but today we get some actual details on what to expect.

'Supernatural' showrunner Andrew Dabb will write, run, and executive produce the series, which has been greenlit for 8 episodes, and he seems to be quite a fan of the series.

"Resident Evil is my favorite game of all time. I'm incredibly excited to tell a new chapter in this amazing story and bring the first-ever Resident Evil series to Netflix members around the world. For every type of Resident Evil fan, including those joining us for the first time, the series will be complete with a lot of old friends, and some things (bloodthirsty, insane things) people have never seen before."

Constantin Film's Robert Kulzer, Oliver Berben, Mary Leah Sutton, and the Walking Dead's Bronwen Hughes will also be exec producing.

As far as story details go, Netflix's Resident Evil adaptation will feature two storylines. One features the 14-year-old sisters Jade and Billie Wesker who are moved to New Raccoon City, which is a manufactured corporate town. The two girls slowly releaze that the town is hiding secrets, and they look to find out exactly what's going on.

In the second storyline, which takes place more than a decade into the future, sees the man race brought down to just 15 million people. Unfortunately, Earth is also populated by more than 6 billion monsters that have been infected with the T-virus. 30-year-old Jade is trying to survive in this world, but secrets of her family's past make it extremely challenging.
