A recent tweet from Square Enix showed off the redesign of the Bahamut Retsu, a summoned beast from the upcoming Crisis Core: Final Fantasy VII Reunion. The tweet also confirms that the lead character designer for the game is Roberto Ferrari. Ferrari worked on Final Fantasy VII Remake, Final Fantasy XV, and other games from the Final Fantasy universe.

Along with the in-game render, Square Enix also shared the concept art created before the final render, which you can see above. It’s always a treat to see how a game’s art changes from its original design to the final product, and this one looks to have captured the intricate design rather well.

You’ll have to wait until December 13, 2022, when this new version of Crisis Core is released on Switch, to encounter the Bahamut Retsu for yourself.
