Metroidvania Gato Roboto received a physical release on Switch via Special Reserve Games earlier this year. This version of the game was produced after the game’s latest patch, keeping it at Version 1.0.5 instead of the latest Version 1.0.6. Why is this a big deal? Unfortunately, a bug was present in Version 1.0.5 of the game which halted player progress and forced them to reset their save file. While the bug was quickly fixed via a free update, the version that exists on the cartridge still has the bug present unless connected to the Internet.

In light of this development, Special Reserve Games has offered to replace Gato Roboto cartridges, providing new copies that include the latest update to any customers who request one. This should please collectors, and anyone hoping to sell or pass the game on in the future, when the update may no longer be available.

An official form for replacement requests is still in the works. Click here for more info, or see below for Special Reserve’s full statement. You can also find the game digitally via the eShop.
