At this year’s Game Awards ceremony, Sonic Frontiers was nominated for the Player’s Voice award, in which fans were able to vote on their favorite game of the year. Unfortunately for Sonic, he didn’t run home home with the award, but it was an honor just to be nominated! Sonic Frontiers director Morio Kishimoto said as much on Twitter recently, as he thanked fans for getting them into the top 5 choices.

In addition to his gratitude, Kishimoto also said that this nomination would be a “driving force” for their next game, promising “an experience of greater excitement and surprise”. It sounds like the team is hard at work on the next Sonic title and is hoping to impress fans even more. Maybe they’ll even take home a Player’s Voice award next time! See below for Kishimoto’s tweet and translation.

We made it into the top 5 of TGA Players’ Voice! This is all thanks to your support! The third generation is off to a good start. I’m happy! I am sure that this result will be a big driving force for the next work. We promise you an experience of greater excitement and surprise. Finally, I would like to thank all the staff involved in this project.
