Skullgirls will receive a major update on Switch on January 3rd, 2023
"will completely replace the previous version of Skullgirls"
Publisher Autumn Games and developer Hidden Variable have shared an official “Skullgirls State of the Game” post, detailing many upcoming updates. Most important for Nintendo fans is a reportedly “massive” update for the Nintendo Switch version of Skullgirls 2nd Encore, which will be available on January 3, 2023.
This update is going to involve a complete reworking of the game, resulting in numerous bug fixes, much faster load times, and other enhancements to visuals and performance. It also includes the release of the game’s Season 1 Pass, which comes with new characters, balance tweaks, and more.
This update should bring the game and any future additions up to parity with other versions. Click here to read the full details, and see below for the Nintendo Switch specific announcement.
The Nintendo Switch will finally have its day! This has been heavily requested, and high on our priority list, but we can now confirm that on January 3rd, the Switch release will get a massive update! This update will bring it into parity with other systems, and includes the release of the Season 1 Pass. (NOTE: This update will NOT include Black Dahlia. She will arrive on Switch around the same time that she releases on PS4.)
When we say a big update, we mean it! This update will completely replace the previous version of Skullgirls on the Nintendo Switch with almost a full rewrite of the port’s codebase, fixing numerous issues specific to that version.
That means faster load times (over twice as fast as before!), better performance, sharper UI and smoother online play.
