Unfortunately, it doesn't add John Goodman

Good news for any spider haters out there - Hogwarts Legacy received a patch today which brings with it a new display option called ‘Arachnophobia Mode’. When activated, all giant (and regular sized) spider enemies in the game will be transformed into strange pink monsters with disembodied roller skate feet. See below for an example:

This isn’t the first time we’ve seen a game add in a mode like this to assuage the fears of arachnophobe gamers. In this particular case though, it also works as a callback to the original series, in which Ron uses magic to make a boggart taking the form of a spider less frightening.

Hogwarts Legacy is currently scheduled to hit Switch on July 25, 2023. This update also includes a number of bug fixes and stability improvements, which will hopefully be available alongside the Arachnophobia Mode for the game’s Switch debut.

Some might argue this is even more unsettling than a spider.
