Fortnite to feature in inaugural Olympic Esports Week

Fortnite can now technically be considered an Olympic sport, thanks to its inclusion in the upcoming Olympic Esports Week. The event will take place in Singapore from June 22nd to June 25th, 2023. It will include a number of digital competitions, ranging from baseball to chess, and now… Fortnite, which is being referred to as “sport shooting”.
Twelve contestants from the 2023 Fortnite Champion Series will be participating in the event as they compete for that coveted #1 Victory Royale, as well as the title of Olympic Esports Series winner. See below for the official details.
The ISSF’s sport shooting island created in Fortnite has been added to the Olympic Esports Finals line-up. The event will see 12 players from the 2023 Fortnite Champion Series (FNCS) invited to compete on the global stage. A specially designed Fortnite Creative Island, made to reflect sport shooting competition, will put the target-aiming accuracy of sharp shooters to the test and see them navigate the in-game environment as they compete to become an Olympic Esports Series winner. All the thrilling finals action will be streamed globally across Olympics.com and Olympic social channels.
Tickets for Olympic Esports Week are available to purchase now, with general admission starting at SGD 10 per day and three-day passes available from SGD 20. In recognition of Visa’s long-standing partnership with the Olympic and Paralympic Games, Visa is the official and preferred way to pay for Olympic Esports Week tickets.
