Splatoon 3's Side Order DLC will feature "new and different" gameplay, plus Off the Hook

More DLC is on the way for Splatoon 3! As part of the Expansion Pass, a brand new wave of content called Side Order is coming sometime in the future. In a new interview with Famitsu, Splatoon 3’s devs elaborated a little more on what exactly this DLC will include.

In the trailer for Side Order, the second wave of the Expansion Pass, we caught a glimpse of Off the Hook and the Octolings.
Hisashi Nogami: Yes. As everyone has guessed, the two of them are definitely making an appearance. We can’t give away any details yet, but it’s going to be a new story that Off the Hook will be part of. We also plan on making the gameplay completely new and different, so please look forward to it.
I wondered if this is what the world would be like if Order won in the Final Fest.
Seita Inoue: Yes. We didn’t decide on this from the beginning, but when coming up with plans for the Expansion Pass, we thought it would be interesting to make a world where (Team) Order triumphed and so we acted on that.
Exactly what Nogami means by “completely new and different” remains to be seen. Will this be a big departure from previous Splatoon gameplay? At the very least, it sounds like the story will be full of twists and turns and feature some returning fan favorites! Stay tuned for more details and a firm release date for the Side Order DLC.
