PiXEL, a Japan-based game developer, has announced that their upcoming title Fire Dragon Fist Master Xiao-Mei will be heading to Nintendo Switch in Japan on May 19th, 2022. The game will be available via Nintendo eShop for 1700 yen.

A video showcasing the game’s arcade-style gameplay and 16 bit graphical style can be seen above. The video features a number of stages and enemies that will be featured in the upcoming release.

The game was originally released in 2019 for PC, and this new version on Nintendo Switch will bring along a variety of enhancements and upgrades like new music and cutscenes.

Further details can be seen below, provided by the developers and translated by Gematsu:

With music composed by legendary former Namco composer Norio Nakagata (Zombie Nation, Genpei Touma Den, Thunder Ceptor, Bravoman, etc.) and purposely limited colors and resolution, Fire Dragon Fist Master Xiao-Mei is a throwback to the 16-bit era.

The Switch version features a number of new elements not in the original 2019 release for PC, including new music and demoscenes by Nakagata, enhanced FM sound effects by Hirofumi Murasaki (Aah! Harimanada, Shinobi III: Return of the Ninja Master, Clockwork Knight, etc.), new characters, a “Xiaoying Mode” in which the story develops from the perspective of the protagonist Xiao-Mei’s older sister Xiao-Ying, a “Gallery Mode” with illustrations and character designs by Studio Vigor, and character voices by the girls unit Suika.
