It took awhile for Minecraft to head to Nintendo platforms, but it eventually made its way over. Minecraft made its way to both the Wii U and 3DS, and then followed those releases up with a Switch version. There’s no doubt the Nintendo side of things has helped Minecraft reach new heights in terms of sales, and Microsoft/Mojang have a new milestone in that department to celebrate.

While Minecraft was already the best-selling game ever, the tally has only grown higher. As confirmed by Helen Chiang, head of Mojang Studios, the combined total of Minecraft sales across all platforms now sits somewhere above 300 million units worldwide. Chiang went on to say that this was a, “milestone no one could have dreamed of when we were all placing our first blocks.”

Minecraft originally saw release all the way back in 2009, and it remains a powerhouse in the game industry 14+ years later. The proof of that is seen every week with the Switch, as its version of Minecraft is regularly found in the top 10 best-selling games every single month around the world.

Along with the sales announcement, Mojang also shared some stats from players over just the last month, and those figures are just as staggering. You can snoop through those details in the infographic below.

What a huge accomplishment! That's an unreal sales number - hard to even wrap my head around. Congrats - they deserve it.
