Animal Well dev on the experience of designing publisher Bigmode's first game
Animal well and good
Animal Well is a puzzle-filled Metroidvania that’s currently scheduled to launch on Switch in early 2024. Notably, it will be the first game launched by publisher Bigmode, which was established by popular Youtuber VideoGameDunkey last year.
In a new interview, Shack News had the chance to talk to Billy Basso, Animal Well’s solo developer. Basso discusses what it was like to partner with Bigmode, and what a great opportunity it was to get extra publicity from that collaboration:
They were super nice. I could tell that this was a passion project for them, and they just wanted to give back to the industry, and they love games, so… It just seemed like too good of an opportunity to pass up. I knew the fact that we were gonna be their first game was gonna be huge, and it was. Very grateful, and the timing worked out really, really well.
