Digital Foundry dives into Turok 3: Shadows of Oblivion's Switch remaster
The shadows (of oblivion) look spectacular
Turok 3: Shadows of Oblivion recently got a remaster, completing the remastered trilogy of original Turok games for the N64. How does the Switch version of the game hold up to the original and other console versions? Digital Foundry is here to take a look at exactly what’s changed.
In the above video, you can see direct comparisons between the game running on Switch and Steam, alongside the original N64 version. Unsurprisingly, aspects like framerate, textures, and lighting have been improved across the board in this remaster. It’s a pretty big upgrade for a game released over twenty years ago!
This video is actually a playthrough of the first 45 minutes or so of the game being played on three separate systems, complete with commentary by the Digital Foundry crew. They’ll guide you through a detailed breakdown of what’s been changed and improved in the new Turok 3, as well as some things that might have actually been done better back on the N64. Watch it for yourself up above!
