Serenity Forge today surprised fans of open worlds and stick figures alike with the news that the slapstick western RPG adventure West of Loathing is available now on Nintendo Switch in a new Physical Edition for $39.99.

West of Loathing’s physical release is available in extremely limited quantities from the Serenity Forge online store and Video Games Plus in Canada, order your copy while supplies last at The Serenity Forge Store or VGP.

West of Loathing’s new physical release features a gorgeous artbook showcasing the painstaking work that went into bringing these hyper-realistic stick-figure characters to life. True art in the most powerful sense.

That’s not all, though. Serenity Forge also announced that Shadows Over Loathing’s previously announced Physical and Collector’s Editions will be launching a month from now on March 5 across Nintendo Switch and PlayStation consoles. These editions can be pre-ordered at the Serenity Forge Store and VGP.

The Standard Physical Edition of Shadows Over Loathing ($44.99) features the following:

  • The physical game
  • Glow-in-the-Dark Sticker Sheet
  • Soundtrack Download Card (yes it is black and white)
  • Microfiber Mapkin (Map-Napkin)

Shadows Over Loathing’s Collector’s Edition ($99.99) comes with everything in the Standard Physical Edition along with the following in a collector’s box:

  • Postcard set featuring beloved Shadows Over Loathing locations
  • A Modern Compass for your modern navigational needs
  • 2.5D Rubber Tentacle Keychain for all of your 2.5D Rubber Tentacle Keychain needs
  • A Window Sticker Family including an upsetting fish humanoid
  • Coaster set featuring Shadows Over Loathing designs
  • S.I.T. Freshman Disorientation Guide (trifold brochure)

Shadows Over Loathing poses the question of how far you’ll go to locate your missing uncle when both shadowy villains and eldritch tentacles are involved. With puzzles, quests, danger, jazz and a large number of stick figures in your way, your journey will take many unexpected turns.

This is really cool. I played Kingdom of Loathing almost every day between 2006 and 2012.
