Super Nintendo World officially opened in Universal Studios, Hollywood on February 17th, 2023. It’s been open for a couple years longer in Japan, but in America that makes today the park’s 1 year anniversary!
To celebrate the occasion, Shigeru Miyamoto filmed a special video message which was shared via Universal Studios’ Twitter account. In the video, Miyamoto recounts the past year and everything it’s represented for Mario and Nintendo. Regarding the theme park, he says “We hope you continue enjoying this real and wonderful land created by the Universal team”. He also concludes with a hearty “Here we go!” in the classic Mario style.
East Coast residents will have to wait a little longer for Orlando’s version of the park to open in 2025. In the meantime, check out Miyamoto’s anniversary message below, which includes a snippet of footage from the Hollywood park.
