Nintendo NY celebrating Pokémon Day with promo cards, characters, and more

Pokémon Day officially takes place next week, on February 27, 2024. If you’re looking for a way to celebrate in the New York area, the Nintendo Store seems like the place to be. Nintendo NY has just announced their full slate of plans for the special day, and they are as follows:

• Receive a Pokémon TCG promo card when you purchase any Pokémon TCG product of $15 or more (Starting 2/23 while supplies last)
• Pokémon Presents viewing at Nintendo NYC (2/27 at 9am ET)
• Sprigatito, Fuecoco, Quaxly, and Pikachu character appearances (2/26 & 2/27 from 5pm - 7pm)
• Fan voting board (Starting 2/27)
• Bring your deck of Pokémon TCG cards for an opportunity to challenge an ambassador to a Pokémon card battle (2/27 2pm - 4pm)
• Giveaways (Starting 2/27 while supplies last)

It sounds like there will be plenty of activities available for Pokémon fans, especially if you’re a player of the Trading Card Game. The Nintendo Store hosted a similar event last year, and you can see what the visiting characters looked like then in the photo up top.

This new round of festivities kicks off next week, though some things will be starting even earlier than that (as noted above.) Stay tuned here and to the Nintendo NY Twitter account, as they’ll be revealing more details in the days leading up to the event.
