New trailer shared for The Midnight Crimes

The Midnight Crimes is a point and click detective adventure game coming to Switch. A new trailer for the game was shared during the recent Latin American Games Showcase, which you can watch above. The trailer is about a minute long, and includes a new look at the dark, atmospheric world of the game.

We still don’t have a firm release date for this one, but the trailer promises that it will be “soon available for your favorite platform”. Stay tuned for more details.

Benjamin Leighton is a war veteran and retired private detective. He lost his family a few years ago in a tragic and gruesome murder, committed by an unknown assassin. Nowadays, Ben lives in the bottom of a bottle, dealing with insomnia and unending guilt. A new case arise, when he is desperately needed to find a missing child, which is the perfect opportunity for Ben to get back into business and face his own demons along the way. Will Benjamin be able to overcome his past? Will he find the missing child? Let’s find out, it’s all in your hands now.

Gameplay Features:

The game will feature a rich narrative storytelling alongside interesting mechanics to help you navigate this world. As a challenge, you have to take care of how much STRESS Benjamin can endure, because his actions and precision will depend on it, you can take time off to release stress by plenty of means in the city. Be careful about the alleys you roam, some may see you as a target and will try to rob you if your REPUTATION or your ELOQUENCE are low. You will be able to adopt a PET in the game, to help Benjamin cope with his situation and to release some stress. The game has a night/day cycle with dates, so be mindful of the days and the hours in order to investigate certain clues.

Point & Click Interactions

The game utilizes classic point & click mechanics for exploration and interaction with the environment. Players navigate through detailed, hand-drawn environments, searching for clues, interrogating suspects, and solving puzzles to progress through the story. Clickable hotspots highlight interactive objects, allowing players to examine them for clues or add them to their inventory for later use.

Dynamic story / Choices Matter

The narrative unfolds based on the player’s choices and actions, with multiple branching paths and endings influenced by their decisions throughout the game. You will be able to unlock special interactions and special side quests depending on the relationship level you have with the characters which will shape the course of the story and the multiple endings you can achieve.

Crime solving Mechanics

Players have access to an interactive board in their detective office where they can pin up evidence, photos, and notes related to ongoing cases. The BOARD in your office room will be your best ally to investigate further, unveil new connections, new clues and new localizations when needed. It is the main tool for investigation.

You can explore a city where darkness unveils unsettling secrets. Be part of Midnight Cove, a city where you can explore and interact with the environment and their citizens.
