Joy-Cons and Switch Pro Controllers supported in iOS 16
They even work well with at least one emulator
Riley Testut, developer behind the popular iOS game emulator Delta, has noted via Twitter that iOS 16 adds support for both left and right Joy-Cons as well as Nintendo Switch Pro Controllers.
According to Riley, you can use both single and dual Joy-Con configurations, and they all work great with Delta, his emulator. iOS 16 will be released to the public this fall.

12M agoYES! Iā¦am so happy about this! I hadnāt had a game controller that was supported by iOS, and I was just about to get a DualSense even though I donāt have a PS5, cause theyāre on sale at the store I work at. Well, now I donāt have to, Iāll just wait till the iOS public betas come in July and test it out. Iāve been really wanting to finish Chrono Trigger on my iPad, but have been holding off till buying a proper game controller because the touch controlsā¦leave a lot to be desired.
This is long overdue, but better late than never!
Edit: Yes, I donāt own non-Nintendo gaming controllers, Iām mostly a Nintendo only gamer. I do plan on getting a PS5 eventually, but I both donāt have the money and have way too much in my backlog right now.
Iām in the same boat. Nintendo only gamer. This is good news for me as well. I tried using the pro controller on Apple TV for its game selection, but no luck. I have no desire to own an Xbox or PlayStation controller, so this definitely simplifies things for me.
