We know that Bayonetta 3 is coming to Switch this year, but the question is when. While we don’t have an answer for you, we do have new hope that a final release date will be shared soon.

The official info page for Bayonetta 3 on Nintendo.com has been updated. Just last week, the page stated that Bayonetta 3’s ESRB rating was still pending. As of today, that listing has been updated with a Mature rating. Bayonetta 3 getting a Mature rating isn’t surprising at all, but seeing the rating be applied means we’re inching ever closer to launch.

Usually the ESRB offers a very detailed description as to why a game received its rating, but the listing for Bayonetta 3 isn’t live yet. What we do have is the basic Mature rating categories the game received an M for. These come from Nintendo’s listing and can sometimes be a bit wonky, so don’t take them as gospel.

  • Violence
  • Blood and Gore
  • Partial Nudity
  • Strong Language
  • In-Game Purchases

With roughly half of 2022 left, we can’t be in the dark too much longer. We’re going to find out about Bayonetta 3’s launch day any day now, and let’s hope that news comes sooner rather than later. We’ve been patient enough!

Ratings are initially based on trailers and descriptions. Play testing is usually minimal and happens post release. I want to believe that the game is coming soon…but if anything this points towards a new trailer coming out.
