EVO is always an exciting event for fans of fighting games. It’s safe to say we’ll see a good few reveals there. However, according to Ed Boon, co-creator of the franchise, none of them will be related to Mortal Kombat.

In response to an IGN tweet suggesting Mortal Kombat news might pop up, Ed Boon quickly shot the claim down via Twitter. In his words, “Its time for Street Fighter and other great fighting games to be in the sun!”

Mortal Kombat 12 has been long-rumored, though it looks like it won’t get its time to shine until another day.

EVO has never been a big enough venue for a big Mortal Kombat new game announcement. Expect that at The Game Awards.
