Did you know that there are some fairly significant differences between the version of Wave Race 64 released in North America and the version released in Japan? Even better, if you have the Nintendo Switch Online Expansion Pack pass, you can create a Japanese account and easily play that version for yourself! It’s called the Shindo Pak Taiõ version, and a new video from GameXplain (above) gives a thorough runthrough of exactly what’s different between the two releases. Here’s a summary:
- Rumble support
- New time trial ghosts
- Updated and remixed music tracks
- New announcer voice clips
- New sound effects
Check out the video above to see exactly how those changes affect the game, and for instructions on how to try it for yourself on the Switch. Which version of Wave Race 64 do you prefer?
