Super Bomberman R 2 TGS showcase features new Castle mode gameplay

Konami shared brand new footage of the upcoming Super Bomberman R 2 during a special presentation at this year’s Tokyo Game Show. The presentation features several multiplayer battles showing off the game’s updated look and feel.

Also featured is a preview of the brand new Castle mode. In Castle mode, one player alone has to defend themselves against a team of opposing bombers. Meanwhile, that team needs to collect keys in order to unlock chests, avoiding traps along the way. You can see how this mode plays around the 28:00 minute mark of the video.

Unfortunately, there is no English voiceover yet for this presentation, but if you’re familiar with Bomberman’s gameplay, it shouldn’t be too hard to follow. Super Bomberman R 2 is scheduled to release on Switch sometime in 2023.
