Nintendo grabs trademarks in Japan for Mario Tennis, Mario Party, Paper Mario, Dr. Mario, and Punch-Out!!

Nintendo has once again filed for a series of trademarks in Japan. This time they're snatching up Mario Tennis, Mario Party, Paper Mario, Dr. Mario and Punch-Out!!. The purpose of these trademarks is listed as ‘video game program’ and ‘downloadable video game program’.

I cannot get enough of this series. I love seeing what's hidden off camera, or how crazy things look when you shift a locked camera position. There's always something interesting going on!

- this was roughly 60% of the initial shipment
- the game sold another 50,000 copies in its second week

Doesn't seem like Mario Party: The Top 100 made much of a dent in the other areas where it's launched. Let's see if the Japanese crowd finds the title more worth their time.
