Nintendo and Pokémon Co. have put out their own remakes of classic Pokémon titles, but sometimes that’s just not enough for fans. One fan in particular wanted to see Pokémon Yellow get the remake treatment, and they had a very specific vision for it.

YouTuber Pokebro has been working on a remake of Pokémon Yellow in 3D, and they’re using the remake of The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening as a point of reference. Pokebro’s approach is decidedly more pixel/voxel-heavy, but you can definitely see the influence in the development video above.

If you’re impressed by what you see, you might be surprised to know that all of this came together in just two weeks time. While there’s still a long way to go, this early start is quite promising. Of course, the biggest hurdle for this remake will be escaping the Nintendo ninjas who’ll no doubt squash this project if it sees release. For now, we can just watch development move along and enjoy from afar.
