Pokémon GO Festival of Lights 2022 shines on with new Pokémon debuts and illuminating encounters
The stars have aligned
The Festival of Lights is a time to strengthen bonds with those around you—including your Pokémon! Celebrate by exploring and keeping an eye out for illuminating Pokémon, including Morelull as it makes its Pokémon GO debut! What’s more, research is showing that some Pokémon will glow at nighttime during this event, so make sure to encounter them in the wild while you can!

Pokémon debuts
Morelull and Shiinotic, the Illuminating Pokémon, will make their Pokémon GO debuts! You can use 50 Morelull Candy to evolve Morelull into Shiinotic.
Event bonuses
- You’ll have an increased chance of encountering Shiny Chinchou!
- 2× XP for catching Pokémon.
- 2× Candy for catching Pokémon.
- Incense activated during the event will last for two hours.
