Niantic using Pokémon GO in Japan to encourage blood donations
Bloody good idea
Niantic continues to use Pokémon GO as a force for good around the world, and their next stop in spreading some good will is in Japan.
In the Koshinetsu region in Japan, Niantic has turned 45 different blood donation locations into official Pokémon GO PokéStops. This is part of a collaboration with the Japanese Red Cross Society, which is looking to shorten wait times for blood donations for those in need.
Trainers who drop by one of these blood drive location PokéStops can snag special gifts designed around Chansey, and also restock on Poké Balls and other items.
