Pokémon Scarlet and Violet are set to release for Switch on November 18th, 2022, which is just over a month away from now. Not surprisingly, that means Pokémon Co. is looking to shift attention over to the new games, which means Pokémon Sword and Shield will slowly be phased out in terms of online support.

Pokémon Co. has revealed that Pokémon Sword and Shield’s Wild Area News will receive one final update on November 1st, 2022, and it will add Pokémon not normally available, such as Gigantamax Snorlax. After that, there will be no more Wild Area news updates.

Along with that, the Battle Stadium will no longer update with a ranked season after November 1st, 2022. The results for the Ranked Battle Season will also not appear in Pokémon HOME.

Lastly, there will be no further online competitions. Friendly Competitions can still be run, but they won’t be displayed in Pokémon HOME starting December 1st, 2022.
