While Tecmo Bowl was an absolutely massive hit for the NES back in the day, Tecmo Super Bowl was probably the bigger deal. That installment in the series actually used the NFL license, which meant you could play as your favorite teams/athletes. Anyone who’s played Tecmo Super Bowl knows that Bo Jackson was the way to go, as he was pretty much unstoppable.

The legend of Jackson’s unstoppable nature in Tecmo Super Bowl lives on today, and you can bet Bo Jackson himself is well aware of it. As a matter of fact, Jackson happens to own a sealed copy of the game, but what’s crazy is that he’s never played it. Bo covered this topic in an episode of the Rich Eisen show.

“I have heard that I was good [in the game], but I’ve never played it. I’ve still got the video game in the original package. It hasn’t been opened. I got the [console] to play it in… and I’m saving it for my grandson.”

[Bo Jackson]

It’s surprising to know that Jackson owns a copy of the game, but he never played it! You’d think you’d want to see your legendary in-game performance first-hand, but I guess when you’re the real-life person that inspired the game version, you already know how good you are!

Gwah! What was the comedy that parodied this fact off? I can't remember. Was it The Goldbergs? They're great for referencing video games. How much is a sealed copy of that game today? If he signs it, he'd probably increase its value.

Edit: No, had to Google it, it was Family Guy. Another great show.
