Just last week, there was some talk concerning Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope’s launch in the UK. While the game debuted at #3 on the physical charts, we learned that physical sales in the UK were down 50% as compared to the first title, Kingdom Battle. Today we learn news that swings things in the positive direction.

According to Ubisoft in their latest financial report, Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope has seen a larger share of digital downloads than Kingdom Battle before it. Kingdom Battle was actually quite successful on the digital front, so hearing Sparks of Hope is tracking ahead is wonderful news.

Along with that, Ubisoft stated that they are “satisfied” with early sales of Mario + Rabbids: Sparks of Hope, but things are just getting started. Ubisoft says that 80% of their marketing budget is yet to be spent, and they plan to push the game to mainstream audiences in the coming weeks and months.

I expected this. Digital sales are much higher across the board compared to when the original game released.
