Octane has come to the Island in Fortnite v22.40! As part of the “High Octane” celebration, Rocket League’s famous Octane car has sped into Fortnite Battle Royale and Zero Build. (Starting in v22.10, creators have been boosting their islands’ gameplay with Octane!) Meanwhile, Fortnite’s Whiplash vehicle is appearing throughout Rocket League and Rocket League Sideswipe.

Octane is unlike any other vehicle you’ll find in Fortnite. This rocket-powered car is capable of boosting to supersonic speeds, climbing up walls, and even flying! In the air, Octane can perform acrobatic stunts like double jumping and dodging to get across rugged terrain quickly. With a bit of practice, these moves can easily outmaneuver entire squads — just don’t run out of boost!

From now until December 3, 2022, at 10 AM ET, complete High Octane Quests for XP and in-game items in Fortnite. Also, complete eight of the Quests for in-game items in Rocket League and Rocket League Sideswipe! Some of the Quests will see you jump into islands in the “High Octane” Discover row, featuring the selected submissions from creators participating in the Octane Callout, and some will have you using Octane in Battle Royale and Zero Build.

GLIDE TO SAFETY WITH THE GRAPPLE GLIDER

An enemy coming right at you? Or even worse, an enemy coming right at you while they’re in an Octane? Make a swift getaway with the Grapple Glider — pull yourself into the air by aiming at a hard surface, then deploy your Glider to land in safe territory.

You can find Grapple Gliders from the ground, Chests, Chrome Chests, and Supply Drops. They have limited charges, so it’s not a bad idea to save your Grapple Glider for emergencies!

HAVE A BIG TIME IN THE BIG BATTLE LTM

Look around you: it’s A LOT of players on your team. In the new Big Battle Limited Time Mode, you’re in a team of 40 facing another team of 40. The match begins with the Storm already circling the first zone, and you’ll see Uncommon-rarity items already in your loadout. The result? The action starts right away in this fast-paced, Zero Build LTM. To help you defeat the other team even faster, loot in Big Battle is Rare-rarity or higher.

LTM goes live at 10 AM ET on November 15.

EXPLORE THE BATTLE ROYALE ISLAND… OUTSIDE BATTLE ROYALE

In the v22.30 patch, the Battle Royale Island became a “starter island” for creating your own Battle Royale experience in it, or for just wandering around. You can also jump into an experience made by someone else! With this new way to explore the Battle Royale Island, we’ll be vaulting Battle Lab in v23.00.
