While it took them an incredibly long time, the powers that be at the Grammys have officially added a ‘Best Videogame Score’ category to their prestigious awards lineup. The nominees for the 65th annual Grammys have been revealed, and a game released on Switch has made the cut!

The nominees for best videogame score for 2023 are as follows:

  • Call of Duty: Vanguard
  • Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla
  • Old World
  • Aliens: Fireteam Elite
  • Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy

It’s wonderful to see Marvel’s Guardians of the Galaxy make the cut for this year’s nominations. Not only is the game on Switch (via cloud streaming), but it really does have a fantastic soundtrack. I remember thinking how good the original score was while playing, so I’m quite happy to see it make the cut!

What do you think of this year’s slate of nominees? Think a particular game got shafted?

They wouldn't know what a good videogame score is even if you'd blast their ears with them 24/7.
Almost the whole list is a big joke.
