Streets of Rage movie picked up by Lionsgate

Back in April of this year, we found out that a Streets of Rage film adaptation was in the works, and it has some rather big names attached to it. Most impressive is the inclusion of John Wick creator Derek Kolstad, who has penned the script for Streets of Rage. Sonic producer dj2 Entertainment and Escape Artists (Equalizer franchise) will produce the film adaptation.

If you were thinking this film was going to get stuck in development hell, think again. It appears companies were quick to move on this project following the success of Sonic the Hedgehog at cinemas, and now Lionsgate has stepped in to snag the rights.

Again, we don’t have actual details on the story for this adaptation, nor do we know when it’ll release. At least we have confirmation that the project is very much full-steam ahead.
