Blizzard finally released the mid-season update for Overwatch 2 yesterday, which brought Mei back to the action along with a number of other additions. Clearly Blizzard is looking to keep the good vibes rolling, as they’ve announced two more tidbits of info that are sure to make fans happy.

First up, Overwatch 2 phone number requirements have been expanded, and now you can use prepaid plans to sign up. There was quite a backlash when Overwatch 2 launched, as those with prepaid phones found out they couldn’t user their numbers to activate an account. If you were blocked from joining the game due to this requirement before, you should be good to go as of today.

Along with that, Blizzard has said that they will be making some changes to the Battle Pass and progression with the game’s second season, which kicks off in December. This was confirmed in a blog post from Overwatch executive producer Jared Neuss, who said the devs, “want you to feel more rewarded just for sitting down and playing,” and “want you to have new accomplishments to chase outside of your Competitive Rank and Battle Pass level” You can see the full details of what’s ahead in Neuss’ blog here.
