Falcom and Tatsunoko Production have announced that The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel – Northern War anime will air in January 2023; The cast will include returning voice actors from the game, such as Rean and Altina. Alongside that, we now know that the story will take place between the events of the second and third games and will feature an original plot.

The story of The Legend of Heroes: Trails of Cold Steel Northern War is set in the year S.1205 of the Septian Calendar, in the state of North Ambria in the northwest region of the continent of Zemuria. It will be an original story told from the perspective of the heroine, Lavie, who was born and raised in North Ambria and fights to protect it as a member of the Northern Jaegers. Joining her as Jaegers on a recon mission seeking information about the “Imperial Hero” are Marty, Iseria, and Talion.
