Sonic Frontiers offers players a vast amount of terrain to explore with all sorts of nooks and crannies waiting to be discovered. There’s no doubt many of you are still working your way through the multiple open zones to see what they are hiding, but others have turned their focus to the game’s source code for even deeper mysteries.

In the video above, you can see footage of an unused beta island that was left behind in the game’s source code. Since this was never meant to be seen by players’ eyes, there’s a lot of incomplete areas and formations, but that only makes the island more interesting to traverse!

A quick pass of the island indicates that this combines Kronos, Rhea and Ouranos islands into one big zone, complete with some areas to run around in between them. We’re not sure why SEGA decided to cut things up as they did, but it’s still interesting to explore this area nonetheless.
