How to access your backup save data in case Pokémon Scarlet and Violet crashes

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet have been out for about a week now and you’ve no doubt heard of all the technical problems the game suffers from. One of the most unfortunate you might run into when playing is the game crashing, especially when you have autosave turned off.

If that happens to you don’t worry as you can see in the above GameXplain video there exists a secret button combination that allows you to access a back up save which should help you reclaim some of your lost progress.

To access the back up just hit the X button, B button, and up on the D-pad at the same time on the game’s title screen. Hopefully a patch will come soon to address these stability issues, but until then be sure to remember this in case the game crashes on you.
