Disney Dreamlight Valley has taken the world by storm, giving Disney fans a virtual playground to decorate with Disney delights, and a way to meet up with their favorite classic characters. The game is a mash-up between The Sims and Animal Crossing, and according to developer Gameloft, the success of Animal Crossing had their team feeling quite confident about their path ahead.

In an interview with Games Industry, Gameloft CFO Alexandre de Rochefort talked a bit about the Animal Crossing comparisons. In particular, de Rochefort says Gameloft felt quite confident in Disney Dreamlight Valley when they saw just how big of a hit Animal Crossing: New Horizons was.

“When we saw Animal Crossing making a killing during the confinement, we were quite happy because it sort of confirms that the idea was quite good.”
