It was a very long road to release for Digimon Survive. The game was announced all the way back in 2018, but it only saw release earlier this year. A number of development issues popped up along the way, and COVID certainly threw a monkey wrench into the situation, but Bandai Namco persisted and saw the game through to release. Now it looks like all the hard work has paid off.

Bandai Namco has announced that Digimon Survive has hit 500k units sold worldwide. That figure includes both physical and digital purchases, although we don’t have details on what platform saw the biggest sales. If we had to speculate, it would seem quite likely the bulk of sales came from the Switch release.

Digimon Survive finally came to Switch back on July 29th, 2022, so this 500k mark has been achieved in roughly 4+ months. Seems like a pretty great achievement for the Digimon franchise, and it shows there’s still plenty of fans out there!
