The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past is one of the best and most influential Zelda titles, as well as SNES game in general. This fantastic adventure for Link has very much stood the test of time, with millions of fans playing (and replaying) this classic over the last few decades.

All that playing has no doubt led to many who know A Link to the Past inside and out, and that definitely goes for the game’s dungeons. That’s why this most recent discovery is so interesting. It turns out Nintendo had some very different plans for some of the game’s dungeons!

As you can see in the video above, prototype data for A Link to the Past has revealed all sorts of changes and adjustments Nintendo made to the game’s dungeons prior to release. Some areas got tiny tweaks in their layout, while others were completely different, if not removed altogether.

Of course, now that this data is out there, you know some hacker is going to make it their mission to restore A Link to the Past’s prototype dungeons. Being able to play through Nintendo’s original plans for the game would be a pretty special event!
